When I used to be on the road more, Singapore Airlines’ Krisworld in-flight entertainment was my one-stop shop for music to download. I can’t describe the joy of discovering to some 10 hours of new music.
As people would watch their red-eye marathons, I’d create playlists and write in my Moleskine.
When I was a kid, I’d listen to the radio while doing homework every night. Back in the days where you recorded your favourite songs on tape and had to use a pencil to rewind it to the perfect stop for your next track.
It’s like when I learn a new song on the guitar. I close my eyes, feel my way around it, and can see the fireworks in my head. See parts of my brain fire up, synapses firing. Fingers instinctively moving to the next chord after awhile. You can’t buy this kind of pleasure.
Have you heard any good tracks lately? What should I be on repeat for me? Name one song that describes you? My iPod is crying out for new tunes. firstname.lastname@example.org
