I Am Light

In hindsight, I realise now that I was scared of failing and I was scared of succeeding, and I just wanted to be in a safe space and not grow too big or be too little. I just wanted to just… stay.”

One of the things that I’ve worked my way out of doing — and I knew that I needed to — was comparing myself to other people. That… just poisons everything. Your real job in the world is to be you. Comparing myself to other people I think, just hurt me more than anything.”

— India.Arie

Aside from Robyn, my favourite artist in the whole world is India.Arie. I love her lyrics and vulnerability. I’ve had her song, I Am Light on repeat all evening and this interview she gave to Oprah struck a chord with me so I had to share it.

Home is Wherever I’m With You

Well, holy moly me oh my. You’re the apple of my eye. [Boy], I’ve never loved one like you.”

Into the Black

It’s early Sunday morning and this is the first time in about 4 days I get to decompress alone.

Alone Time is so important for one’s sanity.

This song seems appropriate. I was standing at the bar of The Peninula Shanghai’s bar looking out the Bund two nights ago when this song came on. If you’d like to check out snippets of your trips to HK or Shanghai in the past two weekends, hop on over here. Enjoy.
